Timbers
We specialize in Western Red Cedar timbers (timbers
are also available in various other species such as Douglas Fir).
Our timbers are available in various grades and sizes. We are able
to supply a variety of unique sizes and can custom cut timbers for
your most unusual requirements. Our timbers can be supplied in rough
or surfaced sizes and are generally supplied green, but can
be dried upon request.
Appearance/STK
Proprietary Grade

Appearance/STK grade timbers are
our highest volume selling timber. This non-structural “grade”
is purchased for quality construction projects where appearance
is high priority. Any knots are sound and tight and there are no
holes. The grade is highly restrictive for wane and can be specified
“no wane”

#2
Clear and Better (for rough lumber) should be specified
when the absolute finest rough lumber is required. It is the standard
for many offshore markets. The wood is essentially completely clear
and it’s natural characteristics do not detract from its fine
appearance. C & Better Clear is a good appearance
high quality grade generally purchased for use as exposed posts
or beams, or for upper end landscape structures. C &
Better Clear is often purchased allowing a percentage of
D Clear (D Clear may require some trimming to yield
clear lengths for the intended use).

Graded for structural and strength characteristics, this grade is
purchased where strength is more crucial than appearance. #2
& Better Structural grade includes raw material that
falls within the Select Structural and No. 1 Structural grades.
Should your project call, specifically for either the Select Structural
or No. 1 Structural grade, we are able to supply such.
